The "EcoHalo Project" was conceived by Dante Leonelli, an artist working with light in London. Shinya Mouri and I are currently the EcoHaloTokyo Team, which you can see here.
An "EcoHalo" is a halo of light that monitors, reflects and communicates a range of pollution levels. Our idea is that EcoHalos will hover over intersections within cities and will change colour depending on the local pollution levels around them. The EcoHalos low energy LEDs will change from green for good through to red for bad in real time.
The "EcoHalo Project" hopes to establish multiple EcoHalos around the world and register them to a central online public database. Globally we can then visually monitor our cities' health and raise awareness of how our cities are contributing to the CO2 issues.
